![]() ![]() ![]() I've read through your other comments in this thread, and it seems like you've simply made up your mind that using aim-assist = lazy. If you want to watch a shooter with no aim assist and less lazy gameplay, you can simply go watch one of those games. Call of duty has (to me) always been a fast-paced shooter that relies on other important gameplay mechanics. There are other games that have those things. Call of duty is just simply not a slow-paced tactical shooter where things like conserving mags, waiting for a clean shot, etc. I think it really comes down to the culture of the game. Which I find all of that to be lazy gameplay. Although, it does mean players don’t have to conserve mags as much, they don’t have to wait for a shot, and they can also full blitz down mid and hip fire anyone that’s near them. I know aim assist isn’t used like ‘aimbot’ because that’d be ridiculous. I still play with controller friends, and I think half of their shots are just awful but they continue to get away with these bad shots. And, isn’t that what pro players want? I started playing fps games on shitbox, with a controller, and have since moved on to what seemed more challenging but was actually better for me as a player. So, if that’s the case then I’d say K&M have another advantage in the game. In my opinion the movement is horrendous. I have played CoD, and many other fps games, on controller. ![]() However, I did mention in some comment threads that some accuracy, as of now, is definitely attributed to aim assist. I completely understand your side, and I also (tried) redacting my statements: “not fully-skilled”. TLDR: I think you're wrong, but I tried to explain it rather than just roast you. Someone let me know if I'm talking out of my ass here though, because I'm not any kind of authority on professional cod. This way, any player that picks up a call of duty game, regardless of PC/console, can have a relatively similar experience. As I understand it, aim-assist in call of duty is not meant to be an aimbot that helps horrible players feel like they can do something, it is meant to bridge the accuracy gap between controller and kbm. Some other, equally important, factors could be movement, positioning on the map, teamwork/comms, etc.Īs someone who has played all cod games since WaW in 2008, the use of aim-assist does not make me assume a player is not fully-skilled. There are many factors that contribute to the skill gap of a cod title, and to assume that shooting is the only one seems silly. I agree that in terms of purely shooting, sure it would, but professional cod is not just gunfights occurring in a vacuum. You mention using kbm would increase the skill gap. Sure, it's possible to have a more accurate shot while using a mouse to aim, but it's also more difficult to have effective movement on kbm than on controller. My guess is that you haven't played many shooting games with a controller, since you seem to assume that aim-assist is a crutch that bad players use to seem better than they are.Ĭontrollers are more capable than kbm in some areas, while the reverse is also true. In my opinion you're making some unfair assumptions. ![]()
